Jacob Crull returns! The Back Line of Death is reunited!
Center back also contributed two goals in 2023
Forward Madison just announced that Jacob Crull has signed to return for 2024.
That means the entire three-headed beast of a backline — Crull, Osmond and Mehl — will return for another season.
Crull made a note-worthy first impression, with two goals, one assist, 88 clearances, 17 blocks, and 31 interceptions. He led the league in passes (1,968) and led the ‘Mingos in tackles (65). Crull locked down the left side of the field during the 2023 season, earning him a spot on the USL All-League Second Team. He will look to continue his dominant defense and counterattack strength for year two with Forward.
“We're pleased to bring back Jake to our environment and feel he will be a key contributor in coming seasons,” Head Coach Matt Glaeser said in a press release. “As a 2nd Team All-League honoree, Jake had a very strong campaign with us last year and we are excited to help him continue to grow as a player in order to reach our goals in 2024.”
We’ll have additional announcements throughout the day, and a special League One Day One edition of the podcast in your feeds tonight, including an exclusive interview with Matt Glaeser.
